Lock It Up
Make it a habit to lock your RV every time you depart. Secure your outer storage compartments, shut your windows, and close all blinds and shades. Also make sure to put away any items that you'd like to have when you return to your RV

Keep Vigil
Offer to keep an eye on neighboring RVers' sites when they're away, and they’ll do the same for you.

Ready an Alarm
A vehicle alarm system can be a useful defense when you're away from your site. Motion detector lights serve to ward off "wandering" critters and humans!

Ask Around
Ask management about their security procedures. Do they have security gates? Is the park perimeter fenced? Do they have cameras? Is the park well lit at night? How hard is it for people not registered at the park to come and go? Do they have nightly patrols?

Buddy Up
It might sound like a corny summer camp policy, but travel around the park in pairs and keep to well-lit paths whenever possible, especially at night!

Alert the Kids
Keep your kids safe by giving them clear direction on where to go if help should be needed. Many campgrounds and RV parks have their staff wear uniforms or shirts that identify them as park employees. Let your kids know this and let them know where they could find the park office, first aid, etc.
